The UFC have confirmed what many people have been predicting – that tomorrow night’s UFC 116: Lesnar Vs Carwin event is set to be the biggest event of the year for the promotion.

The event, which takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas has been announced as a sellout with in the region of 16,000 expected to be in attendance.

UFC officials are also predicting that this could be the second event in two months to break the million barrier after cable estimates put May’s UFC 114: Rampage Vs Evans show in the region of 1,050,000 pay-per-view buys.

Though they don’t believe they will quite reach the current peak figure of 1.6 million PPV sales reached for the historic UFC 100 event which took place almost exactly a year ago, a seven figure buy-rate is expected.

The stellar predictions are in no small part down to the star power of Brock Lesnar who Dana White acknowledges is the UFC’s No.1 draw at this moment in time.  The fact that he’s battled back from a life threatening illness and is set to to face another giant in the shape of Shane Carwin only helps make this a must-see amongst both casual and hardcore MMA fans.
