The recently announced UFC Primetime: Silva Vs Sonnen II special will be aired for the first time tonight on Fuel TV.

The one-off 30 minute episode airs at 7pm ET and will then immediately become available to watch online at UFC.com if you missed it or don’t have access to the channel.

In an attempt to maximize it’s exposure the episode will also be replayed during the week on Fuel TV, FX, FOX Sports Network and on-demand via Blockbuster Studio on DISH.

To be honest I’m still a bit surprised that the UFC didn’t go all out for a standard three-part special given both the magnitude of the event and the rich backstory to it. It’s also a little curious that unlike previous episodes this one premiere’s on Fuel rather than FX.

Nevertheless, Sonnen’s a great subject for a show like this and with Silva also being more vocal in the build-up to this fight compared to their last encounter this should be compelling TV.
