Vitor Belfort produced a spectacular finish tonight at ‘UFC On FX 8’ to the delight of the Brazilian fans and shut down former Strikeforce champion Luke Rockhold’s hopes of becoming a UFC title contender.

Belfort circling to start as Rockhold presses forward. Rockhold attempts a head kick, but slips and falls to the mat.

He gets back up though before Belfort can close on him. Belfort tries a spinning head kick, but it misses. Rockhold tries a takedown, but doesn’t get it and Belfort responds with a flurry of strikes that backs his opponent up against the cage.

They break free and Rockhold lands a couple of leg kicks and then goes upstairs, but it’s blocked.

Belfort fires off a few heavy looking punches, but Rockhold’s ok. Belfort lands a leg kick. Rockhold lands a straight punch, then backs up.

Huge spinning heel kick to the head from Belfort and it floors Rockhold. In true ‘Phenom’ fashion Belfort wastes no time in pouncing on him and lands hard precision punches to the head and Rockhold’s out!

Amazing highlight-reel kick from Belfort there and he hands Rockhold his first loss in 10 fights to boot. With Belfort dispatching challengers in devastating fashion like this then perhaps a rematch with Anderson Silva for the title in the not-to-distant future isn’t out of the question.
