The UFC today announced a reconfiguration of their Spring, 2011 schedule which gives a far clearer indication of how the first few months of 2011 are going to play out.

At one stage it looked like there were going to be as many as four numbered events been squeezed into March and April in addition to a UFC on Versus event and Fight Night show, but that’s no longer the case.

According to MMAWeekly, as of today ‘Shogun’ Rua’s title fight with Rashad Evans will take place at UFC 128 in Newark, New Jersey on March 19th.  The next major event will be the UFC’s first visit to Toronto, Canada for UFC 129 on April 30th.  There’s no indication of who will be fighting on this card just yet, but Georges St.Pierre has made it clear he’d like to be a part of the historic show.

It has been known for some time that the promotion had also hoped to host another event in Abu Dhabi in March, but for the time being that plan has now been scrapped.

March remains a busy month for the UFC however with three events planned covering ground from pay-per-view to Versus and Spike.
