UFC Rio: Edson Barboza Vs Ross Pearson Fight Announced

News of UFC 134, (AKA UFC: Rio) continues to filter through, with the latest fight to be officially confirmed pitting Edson Barboza Vs Ross Pearson.

This should be a very interesting clash of styles, with the Brazilian Barboza’s muay thai skills making him one of the most dangerous and diverse strikers at 155lbs, while the UK’s Pearson tends to favor a more boxing based style, displaying good footwork and overall technique.

Pearson has so far produced a 4-1 record inside the Octagon, with notable winners over Dennis Siver last year, and UFC veteran Spencer Fisher in his last outing in February.

Meanwhile Barboza is a newer addition to the UFC ranks but has made an immediate impression with a brutal beatdown of Mike Lullo followed by a ‘Fight Of The Night’ display against Anthony Njokuani leaving him with a perfect 8-0 career record.

Ross launched MMA Insight (previously FightOfTheNight.com) in 2009 as a way to channel his passion for the sport of mixed martial arts. He's since penned countless news stories and live fight reports along with dozens of feature articles as the lead writer for the site, reaching millions of fans in the process.
