UFC president Dana White today announced the promotion have struck a new TV deal in one of the sport’s biggest markets, Canada.

“Excited to announce @RogersSportsnet is the new home of the UFC in Canada!!” White revealed on Twitter today.

The four year deal will see the network air live preliminary fights, UFC Fight Night events, The Ultimate Fighter series and non-PPV overseas shows.

“This is great news for the UFC and our fans,” stated UFC Director of Canadian Operations, Tom Wright. “Canadians are hungry for UFC shows and segments and now have so much to look forward to as we continue to grow the sport together with Sportsnet.”

The news comes as the UFC prepare for what will be a record-breaking UFC 129: GSP Vs Shields event in Toronto, Canada in April, with an unprecedented 55,000 fans expected to be in a attendance.
