Good quality heavyweight prospects are relatively thin on the ground, so it’s nice to be able to report that the UFC have just signed up one in the shape of Stipe Miocic.

Currently possessing a 6-0 record forged in the regional promotion NAAFS where he was recently crowned champion, the 28 year-old has a solid skill-set for a heavyweight fighter.

Coming from an NCAA Division 1 wrestling background, Miocic is also a former Golden Gloves boxing champion as is demonstrated by the fact that five of his MMA wins have come by either KO or TKO due to punches. During his college days Miocic was also a talented baseball player who had several MLB teams keeping tabs on him at one stage.

Miocic is expected to make his UFC debut in the coming months, though no opponent has been named yet.
