The latest in an ongoing campaign by the UFC to counter-program major Strikeforce events will occur on Saturday night.

While Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery airs live on Showtime on Saturday night with a main event featuring Alistair Overeem Vs Brett Rogers, with Andrei Arlovski Vs Antonio Silva in the co-main event slot, the UFC will be putting on an ‘Ultimate Fights’ package on Spike TV featuring some of their entertaining fights from recent events.

The UFC’s show will contain a total of seven bouts, including the Leonard Garcia Vs Chun Sung ‘Korean Zombie’ Jung war from last months WEC 48 event which quickly gained infamy as the WEC’s version of the infamous ‘Bonnar Vs Griffin’ fight.

The heavyweight encounter between Shane Carwin and Frank Mir from UFC 111 also features in a solid line-up that could well attract some viewers away from their rivals live event.

Here’s how both events stack-up on paper:

UFC ‘Ultimate Fights’ (Spike TV):

  • Frank Mir Vs Shane Carwin
  • Leonard Garcia Vs Chun Sung Jung
  • Mark Munoz Vs Kendall Grove
  • Terry Etim Vs Rafael Dos Anjos
  • Matt Serra Vs Frank Trigg
  • Nate Diaz Vs Rory Markham
  • Paulo Thiago Vs Mike Swick

Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery (Showtime):

  • Alistair Overeem Vs Brett Rogers
  • Andrei Arlovski Vs Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva
  • Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza Vs Joey Villasenor
  • Roger Gracie Vs Kevin Randleman
  • Antwain Britt Vs Rafael ‘Feijao’ Cavalcante
