Today at a special press conference in Las Vegas the UFC unveiled their entire 2015 schedule of events.
In total the UFC has 45 fights planned in the coming year, 13 of which will be on pay-per-view with a further 32 being ‘Fight Night’ style shows.
Breaking it down further – amongst those 32 events will be 4 ‘UFC On FOX’ shows as usual, plus 18 ‘Fight Night’s’ on FOX Sports 1 and a further 10 on the UFC Fight Pass subscription service.
During the presser Jon Anik also broke the international destinations the UFC intends to visit in 2015.
Brazil will again be the most visited country outside of the U.S, with seven events targed including at least one on pay-per-view.
As always Canada gets it’s fair share of shows, with 3-5 currently planned there. Interestingly, after a successful first event in Mexico this past Saturday night the promotion intends to visit their a further two times in the coming year with the plan being to have the heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez Vs Fabricio Werdum finally happen there.
Beyond that there’s currently 5-6 events expected in Europe including familiar haunts like the UK, Ireland, Germany and Sweden, while new destinations like Poland, Holland and Russia are also under consideration and Abu Dhabi will also feature again.
Asia remains firmly in the UFC plans, with 2-3 shows pinpointed for that region, while Australian fans can rest assured that they will also be included.
Overall, next year’s schedule is shaping up to be quite similar to the current one, with a similar number of events and destinations.
Oh, and if you were waiting for the UFC’s special annoucement that was set to be revealed at this presser then we’ve got bad news for you – Dana White just revealed that they weren’t able to put together whatever it was they had planned in time for today’s media gathering! What an anti-climax that turned out to be!
