Aljamain Sterling

Aljamian Sterling has been testing his worth on the open market over the past few weeks since his current deal with the UFC came to an end and is now set to reveal who he’s signing for on ‘The MMA Hour’ show on Monday.

The 26 year-old Sterling is one of the most promising bantamweight prospects around with a perfect 12-0 career record to date including four victories inside the UFC’s Octagon.

Three of those four wins came inside the distance, TKO’ing Hugo Viana, an inverted arm-triangle stoppage against Takeya Mizugaki and a standing guillotine choke submission against Johnny Eduardo, leaving him placed at No.5 on the offical UFC bantamweight rankings.

While he’s not a household name yet, ‘The Funk Master’ has the potential to be a breakout star and future title contender, so it’s understandable that he’s looking for a considerable bump in his basic salary from the $14,000 to show, $14,000 to win that he’s been earning via his recently completed UFC deal.

According to Sterling all the major promotions have tabled offers for his services, specifically mentioned Bellator, World Series Of Fighting and ONE FC in addition to the UFC.

It’ll be interesting to see who he does end up, with their being a real possibility that he could follow in the footsteps of former UFC lightweight champion Ben Henderson and jump ship over to Bellator, though it’s not out of the question that the UFC will recognize his potential and outbid the others to ensure he stays in the Octagon.
