German star Dennis Siver is set to be the latest lightweight fighter to make the transition down to the 145lb featherweight division.

Until recently Siver had been scaling the 155lb ranks with a four-fight winning streak that included notable wins over the likes of George Sotiropoulos and Matt Wiman, but he finally came undone against Donald Cerrone in October.

That apparently has convinced him to try his luck in the featherweight class, following in the footsteps of a number of other notable lightweight fighters such as Kenny Florian, Ross Pearson, Tyson Griffin and Joe Stevenson.

Siver has certainly proven to be a capable fighter during his time in the UFC and his presence can certainly help spice up the rapidly growing 145lb division which is currently spearheaded by Brazilian star Jose Aldo.
