Following today’s UFC 124 pre-fight press conference Dana White revealed that an expected return to Abu Dhabi in March, 2011 for UFC 128 is far from a certainty.

The temporary arena at Ferrari World used last year for UFC 112 no longer exists, and according to MMAJunkie a suitable replacement has so far not been established.

“We’re still working on it,” White told the site. “It just depends on our schedule and what we do. The guys in Abu Dhabi want a fight, so we’ll see what happens. You can’t go there in the summer.”

With the Abu Dhabi based Flash Entertainment Group buying a 10% share of the UFC last year it had been widely believed that a return to the Middle East was practically guaranteed to occur in 2011.

UFC 128 had been expected to feature the light-heavyweight title bout between Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua and Rashad Evans, plus another 205lb fight featuring Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Tito Ortiz.
