Filming for the first international edition of The Ultimate Fighter reality show got underway in Brazil at the start of this week, and UFC head honchos Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta are already giving the action so far rave reviews.
“I just watched one of the best fights I’ve ever seen. #TUFBRAZIL it’s gonna be a sick season,” Fertitta declared on Twitter.
White was equally enthusiastic about the performances put in by the new crop of featherweight and welterweight contestants.
“Just wrapped up the 1st day of shooting TUF Brazil and HOLY SHIT!!! Wait till u c the 1st ep! U won’t Care that it in portuguese! So awesome.”
Coached by UFC stars Wanderlei Silva and Vitor Belfort, the new series is destined to be aired on Globo TV in Brazil after filming is complete, but international fans will also be able to view the action via UFC.com.
Following Saturday night’s UFC 143 event White confirmed that India will be the next destination for a series of TUF, while the bigger picture for this international expansion is to eventually be able to hold a ‘TUF World Cup’ which will pit the winners of each countries show against each other in a major event.
