Urijah Faber Cuts His Famous Locks For His Hospitalized Sister

Sit back in your most comfortable chair in front of an open log fire with your pipe and slippers people, it’s time for this year’s heart-warming Christmas story.

Earlier this year UFC star Urijah Faber’s younger sister Michaella was involved in a car accident that left her with serious head trauma that would eventually require her to be placed in an induced coma and have a piece of her skull removed during a brain operation.

All very scary stuff, but thankfully the Faber’s are built tough and Michaella is now on the slow road to recovery and doing well, though having to re-learn some of the most basic human functions like speech and memory.

Due to the operation Michaella had to have her head shaved, and so as a sign of solidarity with his little sister Faber has decided to shave his own famous golden locks.

That’s no mean feat as Faber has become synonymous with his long golden hair over the years, essentially becoming a unique trademark for the former WEC champion.

It doesn’t come as too much of a surprise though as Faber, who will have the honor of being one of the coaches on the first live edition of The Ultimate Fighter show on FX next year, is well documented as being one of the sports ‘good guys.’

Faber documented the whole thing on a video blog which you can watch below, and as you’ll see he carries off the new look pretty well, while despite all that she’s been through Michaella still looks as pretty as a picture.
