Since his unanimous decision loss to Mike Brown in their featherweight title rematch, WEC star Urijah Faber has been nursing a broken right hand, as well as a dislocated left, which occurred during the bout.

Now Faber (22-3) has recovered and is ready to get back into the cage after signing a new multi fight deal with the promotion, and the word is that another top 10 ranked featherweight, Rafael Assuncao (14-1) will be his first opponent at WEC 46 in January of next year.

Assuncao has made his presence felt in the organization, having won his first two fights over Jameel Massouh, and most recently Yves Jabouin.

Having failed on two occasions to defeat Mike Brown, Faber will now be looking to put together a run of victories to make a convincing case that he should be given another opportunity to reclaim the featherweight belt.
