The UFC have announced that a major bantamweight title fight between current champion Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber will take place at UFC 132 on July 2nd.

This fight has been eagerly anticipated since Faber moved down to 135lbs last year given that he was the last man to beat Cruz back in March of 2007 in a featherweight bout.

Since then Cruz has positioned himself as the leading man at bantamweight, going on an eight fight winning streak and perfecting his unique, fast-paced style along the way.

There’s also added spice to this rematch as the normally mellow, mild-mannered Faber has frequently made it clear that he does not like Cruz who he claims has been disrespectful to him in the past.

There have been rumors that Faber and Cruz could be coaches on TUF Season 14, but Dana White has denied that, and a July booking almost certainly now rules them out of contention for it.
