Viral YouTube Star Ben Nguyen Signs For UFC

The UFC have announced the signing of Ben Nguyen, an Australian MMA fighter who has became a viral video star watched by millions on YouTube within the past month.

Nguyen rocketed to viral stardom after footage of him easily defeating the tattoo-faced Julz ‘The Jackal’ Rabaud in a matter of seconds at the Nitro MMA 11 event in Brisbane, Australia, a day after his opponent had tried to bully him at the weigh-ins for the show was uploaded to the net.

At the time of writing the original video, titled ‘Tatooed bully acts tough and gets knocked out in 20 seconds’ had been watched well over 7 million times.

The 26 year-old Nguyen is a season bantaweight with a 13-5 career record and is currently on a seven fight winning streak, so he’s not being signed to the UFC purely because of his newfound internet fame.

Nguyen, who’s originally from the U.S, but moved to Australia a couple of years ago to be with his girlfriend will now make his UFC debut on the undercard of the UFC Fight Night 65 event down under in Adelaide on May 10th against Alptekin Ozkilic.

The UFC Fight Night 65 event will be headlined by a heavyweight encounter featuring Mark Hunt Vs Stipe Miocic.
