With Rich Franklin vs Antonio Rogerio Nogueira being pulled from next month’s UFC 133 event, Vitor Belfort Vs Yoshihiro Akiyama now serves as the main event, and ‘The Phenom’ vows that he’s going to give the Philladelphia fans something to cheer about.
“Philly is the ‘City of Rock.’ And a rock is known to knock people out. So in Philly, Aug. 6, I’ll knock [Akiyama] out. So don’t get your popcorn, don’t leave your couch. Stay there and be ready,” says Belfort.
While he’s clearly confident of adding another knockout win to his record Belfort is also respectful of what Akiyama can do.
“Akiyama is a stand-up guy, he likes to bang. Great judo throws. he’s a pretty tough guy. He really likes to stand and trade punches. When you have four-ounce gloves on your hands, the fight can end anytime.
“I’m ready for him; he better be ready for me.”
