Vitor Belfort had been very much the gentleman leading up to his title fight with Anderson Silva at UFC 126 last night, and even after suffering a first round KO he remains dignified in defeat.

In fact the former light-heavyweight champion couldn’t help admire the stunning front kick to the face that ended his dreams of becoming a UFC champion once again.

“I just saw the kick,” Belfort wrote on Twitter. “It was fantastic even then I think this will land once in a million, [it landed] tonight.”

Belfort had been the fan favorite leading into the bout, and he was quick to thank them for their support, while also assuring them that he was far from finished in the UFC.

“I only have one thing to say I love the fans and I will be back soon I have so much energy on me that i am ready to run, thanks for every one that came to see the fight.”
