A fight between Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen has been brewing for some time now since the Brazilian gave the former middleweight No.1 contender a warning to stop being disrespectful with his remarks regarding his homeland and fellow fighters.

Sonnen was quiet at the time, but since his PED suspension trial has finished he’s been blowing up twitter with barbs aimed at ‘The Axe-Murderer,’ intensifying their rivalry.

There’s still no confirmation that the fight will take place, but in a new interview with The Fight Network Silva says he’s confident that would be a good bout for him.

“I trained with him one time in [Couture’s gym] and I killed him there,” he says with a glint in his eye.

Despite the trash-talking Sonnen doesn’t appear to be the first name on Silva’s list though.

“[Chris] Leben is a really good opponent.  He has a style like my style.  He like’s to fight, he’s not afraid to fight toe-to-toe.  He’s got a fight at one of the next UFC fights, and if he wins I want to fight him.”

First the 34 year-old has to continue his rehab from a knee surgery he had earlier in the year though.  If all goes well he has his eyes set on a return to action at the blockbuster UFC 129 event in Toronto, Canada on April 30th.
