In an interesting new interview with Sherdog.com, Fabricio Werdum gives a play-by-play description of his historic win over Fedor Emelianenko at last month’s Strikeforce: St Louis event from the comfort of his own living room.

Among the more interesting observation he makes include his confirmation that he wasn’t knocked down by a punch from Fedor as appears to be the case at first glance. He also notes that the submission was easier to pull off because it happened so early in the fight when both fighters were not yet slippery due to sweat.

Werdum was also keen to point out that ‘Big’ John McCarthy knees him in the head by mistake at the end of the fight!
