Jake Shields is a little less than a week away from finally making his UFC debut against Martin Kampmann at UFC 121.
Outside of the promotion Shields has proven to be one of the most dominant 170lb’ers in the sport, compiling a 14 fight winning streak, largely thanks to his potent combination of wrestling and jiu-jitsu.
In preparation for his debut the former Strikeforce middleweight champion has been training with another grappling wizard – Bellator’s season 2 welterweight tournament winner Ben Askren who is also gearing up for a major fight against Lyman Good for the 170lb title on Thursday night.
Below you can watch a grappling masterclass between the two, and get a feel for the skills these two guys possess on the mat.
No doubt it’ll give the two fighter’s opponents food for though ahead of their bouts later this week.
