8,345 fans turned up to the Nationwide Arena in Columbos, Ohio on Saturday night to watch WEC 47 – the fifth highest attendance in the promotions history.

At the post-fight press conference it was announced that the preliminary bout fighters George Roop and Leonard Garcia had picked up an additional $10,000 ‘Fight Of The Night’ bonus each for their three round encounter which ultimately ended in a draw.

‘Knockout Of The Night’ also came in the undercard portion of the event as Anthony Pettis pulled of a spectacular head kick KO in the second minute of his fight with Danny Castillo, also earning him a $10,000 boost to his paycheck.

Finally, ‘Submission Of The Night’ honors went to Joseph Benavidez who pulled off a surprise guillotine choke on Miguel Torres to claim the biggest win in his career to date.

One man who can perhaps feel a little unlucky to be left out is Scott Jorgensen who locked in a standing guillotine choke on Chad George that at one point had his unfortunate opponent dangling in the air before collapsing in an exhausted heap on the canvas.
