We hate to be the bearer of more bad news, but unfortunately the UFC’s injury bug has bitten once again, with Jose Aldo being the latest fighter to be forced out due to injury.

That means his UFC 149 featherweight title fight with Erik Koch, which was intended to headline the Calgary show, has now been scrapped.

To replace it the UFC have opted to move UFC 148’s co-main event between Urijah Faber and Renan Barao for the interim bantamweight title to the main event of UFC 149.

The July 21st event has been one of a number of UFC shows to face major changes due to injuries recently, with Michael Bisping and Thiago Alves also having had to pull out of the trip to Canada, being replaced by Hector Lombard and Chris Clements respectively.

Of course the UFC 148 fight card on July 7th has also now been weakened, though it still has a major headliner between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen to hang it’s hat on.
