World Series Of Fighting dished out a fairly healthy series of paychecks to their fighters who competed in their debut event in Las Vegas last night.

Topping the list was headliner Andrei Arlovski who took home $60,000 for his first round victory, while co-main event star Anthony Johnson earned his $55,000 payday with a spectacular knockout finish in his fight.

Former K-1 fighter Tyrone Spong was another notable earner, receiving $27,000 for his MMA debut which he ended swiftly by knockout.

This is good news for the fighters, but you have to wonder if forking out a total $352,000 in fighter earnings is really a good idea for WSOF at this early stage in their development, particularly since it’s rumored that they also paid to have their event aired on NBC Sports.
