World Series Of Fighting put on their first live event on the main NBC Channel this afternoon and we’ve got all the results for you below.

Nick Newell has done remarkably well to get as far as he has in the sport despite having one arm that’s only partially formed, but his 11 fight unbeaten record came to an abrupt end today as WSOF lightweight champion Justin Gaethje TKO’d him in the second round.

The early stand-up exchanges between the two lightweights proved to be competitive, but Gaethje began to gain an advantage as the minutes ticked on, notably opening up a cut high on Newell’s head.

Newell’s inability to effectively defend his left side began to prove more and more costly in the second round as Geathje really went to town on both his body and head on that side. Newell’s cut was getting worse too, resulting in a doctor stoppage, but despite enduring a beating and looking tired Newell never appeared to be trying to find a way out of the fight.

In the end Gaethje was able to put a stop to the contest himself though, landing a big right hand that dropped Newell for the TKO stoppage.

In the co-main event Jon Fitch notched up his second victory in a row with a clean sweep on the scorecards against Dennis Hallman thanks to a trademark grinding performance.

Earlier in the evening another former UFC fighter Melvin Guillard claimed a second round TKO victory in his WSOF debut, finishing Gesias Cavalcante with a knee followed by a flurry of strikes after having also dropped him in the opening round.

And in the main card opener, Cody Bollinger made short work of Pablo Alfonso, submitting him with a rear-naked choke mid-way through the first round.
