MMA fans around the world are celebrating today as the news breaks that UFC octagon girl Arianny Celeste is to be the cover girl in the November issue of Playboy magazine.
Dana White confirmed the news during an interview with Ariel Helwani at yesterday’s UFC 118 pre-fight press conference.
“Yeah, it’s true, she’ll be the November cover of Playboy. She actually just shot it,” White said. “All the pictures are coming back right now and from what I’m hearing it was a great shoot.”
Arianny has become the most popular octagon girl ever as was demonstrated in https://mmainsight.com’s recent poll voted on by over a 1,000 MMA fans in which she came first with 28% of the vote.
Celeste won’t be the first octagon girl to grace the cover of the magazine however, that honor was handed to Rachelle Leah, who came third in our poll with 16% of the vote, back in November of 2008.
“Rachelle did really well, and Rachelle cover was at a time when the UFC wasn’t as big as it is now, so as it keeps growing…and obviously with Arianny being…I would honestly say Arianny is one of the most beloved and biggest ring card girls we’ve ever had. So I’m sure it’s going to do very well.”
Arianny’s star is definitely on the rise at the moment after also appearing on the cover of Maxim magazine earlier this year, and more recently she has stepped in front of the camera to present UFC’s weekly ‘Ultimate Insider’ web show.
