Reports emerging today from MMA site CagePotato and FightersOnly suggested that popular Octagon girl Brittney Palmer was no longer employed by the UFC.
While Palmer herself had never commented on the matter a rumor had been swirling around for a few days now that this was the case, and the fact that her picture no longer appears along with the other Octagon Girls on the UFC’s official site appeared to confirm that it was true.
However, UFC president Dana White has since stated that they “have not got rid of her”.
Just days ago Palmer had stated in an interview with Yahoo! Sports that she wanted to be more than “just a hot chick” and was enrolling in art school to further her interest in painting, but at the time it had been assumed that she would still be continuing with her UFC duties as well.
Palmer has been under Zuffa’s wing since 2008 when she first started as a ring girl for the WEC. Her popularity lead to her being brought in as part of the UFC’s octagon girls when the two promotions merged at the start of the year.
