Abubakar Nurmagomedov To Make UFC Debut In November

Abubakar Nurmagomedov, a cousin of UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, will make his UFC debut against David Zawada at UFC Fight Night 163 in Moscow on November 9th.

Nurmagomedov is a welterweight fighter who has had a long association with the WSOF / PFL promotion, where he has compiled a 6-1-1 record, taking his overall career run to 15-2-1.

The 29-year-old most recent fight saw him fighting to a draw with former UFC fighter Bojan Velickovic in the quarter-finals of PFL’s 2018 welterweight tournament, and advanced to the semi-finals due to a tie-breaker, before having to withdraw from his next fight due to a hand injury.

For his first fight inside the Octagon he’ll be going up against Germany’s David Zawada, who has so far suffered back-to-back losses since joining the UFC from KSW in 2018.

Zawada first loss by split decision against Danny Roberts last year and has since followed that up with a third round body kick KO loss to Li Jingliang.

Nurmagomedov vs. Zawada joins a UFC Fight Night 163 card that does not have any major fights attached to it so far, but should start to fill up rapidly in the coming weeks.
