After a lengthy spell on the sidelines, bantamweight fighter Bryan Caraway will return to action against Cody Stamann at UFC 222 on March 3rd in Las Vegas.
The injury-plagued Caraway has only fought twice in the past three years and sat out for the entirety of the 2017 campaign, so there will surely be concerns about the possibility of ‘ring rust’ heading into his newly announced fight.
There’s also been turmoil in Caraway’s personal life over the past year, as he’s no longer together with his long-time partner Miesha Tate, who indirectly confirmed the split at the turn of 2018 with the news that she was pregnant with her first child and the father was ex-TUF competitor Johnny Nunez.
Nevertheless, Caraway will step into the Octagon looking to extend his current winning streak to three fights after previously having defeated two respected opponents in Eddie Wineland and Aljamain Sterling, which took his overall UFC record to 6-2.
In Stamann, Caraway faces an up-and-coming 28-year-old who has so far logged two victories since joining the UFC last year, and overall wields an impressive 16-1 career record.
Caraway Vs Stamann joins a UFC 222 event that’s set to be headlined by a featherweight title encounter between Max Holloway and Frankie Edgar, while other confirmed bouts include Stefan Struve Vs Andrei Arlovski, Hector Lombard Vs CB Dollaway and Cat Zingano Vs Ketlen Vieira.
