A middleweight fight between Chris Curtis and Anthony Hernandez has been booked for an as-yet unnumbered UFC Fight Night event on September 16th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Curtis ended 2022 on a high with a KO win over Joaquim Buckley, but 2023 hasn’t gone his way so far as he lost out by unanimous decision to Kelvin Gastelum back in April and then saw his fight with Nassourdine Imavov earlier this month declared a no-contest after an accidental clash of heads left him with a bad cut which ended the fight prematurely.
Now ‘The Action Man’ goes up against ‘Fluffy’ Hernandez, who is riding a four-fight winning streak heading into this fight.
That’s a run that began with a submission win over Rodolfo Vieira in 2021, followed by a decision win over Josh Fremd and submission finish of Marc-Andre Barriault in 2022, while just a few weeks ago he delivered a third round TKO Finish of Edmen Shahbazyan.
Curtis vs. Hernandez joins a Fight Night card that will be headlined by a women’s flyweight title rematch between current champion Alexa Grasso and former titleholder Valentina Shevchenko
