UFC veteran Clay Guida’s next fight will be against Michael Johnson at UFC Fight Night 186 on February 6th.
The 38-year-old Guida comes into the bout with only one win from his last four fights, starting with a submission loss to Charles Oliveira back in June of 2018.
He then picked up a decision victory over BJ Penn, but has since suffered back-to-back losses against Jim Miller and Bobby Green.
Remarkably, this is Guida’s 14th year of competing in the UFC, during which time he’s compiled an overall 15-14 record.
The 34-year-old Johnson is also a long-standing UFC fighter dating back to 2010, and like Guida he’s been struggling to find form in recent times, having lost three fights in a row.
It’s a slump that started with a KO loss against Josh Emmett, then a majority decision defeat to Stevie Ray and finally being submitted by Thiago Moises.
The harsh reality is that Johnson has actually lost eight of his last 11 fights in the Octagon, and leaves him with an overall 11-12 record in the UFC.
Guida vs. Johnson joins a UFC Fight Night 186 event that will be headlined by Alistair Overeem. vs. Alexander Volkov and will also feature a rematch between Beneil Dariush and Carlos Diego Ferreira.
