Conor McGregor has vented his frustration at the fact that he still doesn’t have an official comeback fight booked in the UFC yet, despite his eagerness to finally get back into the Octagon after a two-and-a-half year injury layoff.
“They are talking Manny here in Saudi,” McGregor told TalkSport. “The lads in the UFC aren’t really talking any. So, the lads here are talking Manny, the UFC aren’t talking any.
“Give me something. I’m supposed to be back in April. It was supposed to be December!
“For all the figures I’ve brought in this game, I sell more than all of them combined,” McGregor continued.
“No one in the history of the fight game has been treated the way I’ve been getting treated at this minute. From what I came through, to what I bring. They f****** should open the floodgates for me.
“I’m waiting! And my patience is wearing thin on me waiting.”
In a separate interview McGregor continued to talk up the possibility of fighting Manny Pacquiao in the boxing ring.
“How about me versus Manny here in Saudi? How does that sound to you?” McGregor asked boxer Derek Chisora on IFL TV. “Now wouldn’t you think Manny should have to come up to my weight considering it’s his sport? Wouldn’t you think that’s what a man would do, versus what a mouse would do?”
“Well, Manny already owes me 8 million via court of law, because he was signed to my management company, and then didn’t honor his deal. And he was brought under the court of law.”
So it appears that McGregor is putting pressure on the UFC brass to put him on the UFC 300 card in April, and there’s no doubt that his presence would help that eagerly anticipated card live up to the hype, though Dana White has so far not thrown his weight behind the idea, and not so long ago was suggesting that the summer of next year was more likely for the superstar’s comeback fight.
