Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series: First Fight Card Unveiled

Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series is heading to UFC Fight Pass starting on July 11th, featuring live weekly fights between fighters vying to get a place on the UFC’s roster.

The five-fight line-up for the series premiere has now been officially unveiled and it includes three former UFC fighters who will be attempting to battle their way back into the promotion.

The first of those, Kurt Holobaugh who fought once for the UFC back in 2013, losing by decision to Steven Siler at UFC 159.

he’s since compiled an 8-2 run on the regional circuit and is coming off a three-fight winning streak in the Legacy FC promotion that includes a recent victory over Gesias ‘JZ’ Cavalcante just a month ago.

Justin Jones also had a brief run in the UFC between 2014 and 2015, picking up losses to Corey Anderson and Ron Stallings.

Now he returns at middleweight after putting together a six fight winning streak since leaving the UFC.

Finally, featherweight fighter Joby Sanchez left the UFC in late 2015 after a 1-2 stint in the promotion, and now gets a second bite at the cherry after getting back to winning ways last year.

All the fighters on the card will be hoping that they impress enough on the night to earn a call-up to the UFC, though a victory on the night doesn’t guarantee that will be the case.
