A middleweight scrap between Derek Brunson and Darren Till has been pencilled in to headline an upcoming UFC Fight Night event on August 14th.
The 5th ranked Brunson completely dominated Kevin Holland on the mat in his last headliner at UFC On ESPN 21 a couple of months ago.
That extended his current winning streak to four fights, having also earned decision wins over Elias Theodorou and Ian Heinisch, along with a TKO stoppage of Edmen Shahbayzan.
Meanwhile, Till is currently ranked No.6 in the division, but is coming off a unanimous decision loss to former champion Robert Whittaker back in July of last year.
Prior to that Till had earned a win on the scorecards against Kelvin Gastelum, but in total he’s now lost three of his last four fights, so though he’s still a high-profile fighter, he could really use a big win over Brunson to avoid slipping down the pecking order.
Brunson vs. Till hasn’t been officially announced yet, but is in the works according to ESPN and is the only fight currently attached to the Fight Night card, which doesn’t yet have a confirmed destination.
