After a long absence, ‘The Korean Superboy’ Doo Ho Choi is finally set to return to action against Danny Chavez at UFC Fight Night 193 on July 31st at a destination still to be confirmed.
Once an exciting rising star of the featherweight division, Choi won his first three fights in the promotion in less than five minutes combined via strikes.
However, Choi’s form then slipped, losing out by decision to Cub Swanson, followed by back-to-back TKO losses against Jeremy Stephens and Charles Jourdain.
The latter of those two defeats came in December of 2019 and Choi hasn’t been seen in the Octagon since, so the now 30-year-old will have a lot of ground to make up when he does finally get back into the cage.
For his comeback fight, Choi will be going up against ‘The Columbian Warrior’ Chavez, who is coming off a unanimous decision loss against Jared Gordon back in February, but did win his UFC debut on the scorecards against T.J. Brown last year.
Choi vs. Chavez joins a UFC Fight Night 193 card that doesn’t yet have an official headliner, with other notable bouts including Bryan Barberena vs. Jason Witt, Jinh Yu Frey vs. Ashley Yoder and Rani Yahya vs. Kyung Ho Kang.
