A heavyweight fight between Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Marcin Tybura has been booked for UFC Fight Night 202 in Las Vegas on February 26th.
After an impressive four-fight winning streak to start his UFC career, the 33-year-old Rozenstruik has found himself falling into a pattern of alternating between wins and losses for his past five Octagon encounters.
It’s a spell that began with a KO loss to Francis Ngannou, and while he’s went on to earn TKO wins over Junior dos Santos and Augusto Sakai since, he’s also suffered decision losses to Ciryl Gane and most recently Curtis Blaydes back in September of last year, leaving him ranked No.6 in the division.
As for the 36-year-old Tybura, not so long ago he was in the midst of a five-fight winning streak, having defeated the likes of Sergey Spivak, Maxim Grishin, Ben Rothwell, Greg Hardy and Walt Harris.
However, Tybura’s streak came to an end in October when he lost out to Alexander Volkov by unanimous decision, which leaves him in the No.9 spot on the rankings.
Rozenstruik vs. Tybura joins a UFC Fight Night 202 card that’s set to be headlined by Beneil Dariush vs. Islam Makhachev, while the card will also feature Misha Cirkunov vs. Makhmud Muradov and Ion Cutelaba vs. Ryan Spann.
