Jorge Masvidal Admits Fighting GSP Would Be A Huge Challenge

what's next for jorge masvidal

As one of the hottest properties in the UFC right now, Jorge Masvidal has plenty of potential big fight opportunities on the horizon, but the superstar who appears to earn the most respect from ‘Gamebred’ out of that list is Georges St-Pierre.

“Well, they’ve said this about me, that I resurrect fighters and then I retire them again,” Masvidal said on Submission Radio recently. “So, I wouldn’t mind if GSP jumped on that campaign.

“In all honestly, as a competitor, I want to f*cking break his face. I want to go out there and give him everything I got. But I respect the time what he’s done.

“He took I don’t know how many years off, came back, beat Bisping for the legitimate middleweight title. Dude’s a stud. He’s a f*cking animal, bro. I would put everything into my being, into my soul, to end this individual, because he’s that good.”

“He’s the type of fighter, this sh*t would require a nice training camp, isolation away from the world and just focus on the task, just day in and day out, cause he’s a hell of competitor, and I’m not taking a back seat to nobody in this division. So, I would love it.”

However, if St-Pierre was to return, it’s more likely that he would be targeting a fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov, and meanwhile Masvidal has admitted that another huge fight with Conor McGregor may also slip from his grasp.

“From watching interviews, hearing things, I don’t think so. I think buddy goes a different path,” Masvidal said of McGregor.

“I don’t know if Conor wins it means that he fights me,” Masvidal said of McGregor’s welterweight bout against Donald Cerrone at UFC 246. I really don’t know that. I don’t think so. From watching interviews, hearing things, I don’t think so. I think buddy goes a different path. Maybe I’m just looking into the future, but I don’t think so. I think I’m gonna end up making owl soup at some point this year.”

if the owl reference flew over your head, Masvidal’s nickname for current welterweight champion Kamaru Usman is ‘The Owl’, whom he also refers to as ‘The Who?’
