Jorge Masvidal Leaves Leon Edwards Bleeding After Backstage Altercation During Interview

Jorge Masvidal was being interviewed live on ESPN by laura Sanko yesterday following UFC Fight Night 147 when an altercation broke out between the main event winner and another impressive welterweight performer in London, Leon Edwards.

Near the start of the interview, Edwards walked past Masvidal and simply stated, “July” – apparently an indication that he wanted to fight him during International Fight Week in Las Vegas.

Masvidal didn’t seem particularly enthused by the idea however, simply shrugging while saying, “Maybe, maybe not.”

“Ah, shut up!” Edwards said.

“Hey, come over here – say it to my face,” Masvidal said with a chuckle as he began walking over towards Edwards with his hands behind his back.

As Edwards came forward to meet him Masvidal suddenly unleashed a three-piece combination before security was able to drag them apart.

In the aftermath of the scuffle, Edwards was seen bleeding from his left cheek as others called for him to be taken for stitches.

Edwards was then taken for treatment, while Masavidal was later escorted from the premises.

It now remains to be seen how, if at all, the UFC chooses to punish Masdvidal, with the $100,000 he earned in bonus money for producing both the ‘Fight Of The Night’ and ‘Performance Of The Night’ during his KO win over Darren Till potentially at stake.
