Khabib Nurmagomedov Speaks Out About Who He’ll Fight Next

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has spoken out on social media to address rumors about who he will be fighting in his first title defense and when it’s likely to take place.

“Lightweight division is the most competitive division in #UFC,” Nurmagomedov wrote on Instagram.

“At this moment, atmosphere is very heated: there is Conor and Tony, Poirier, Lee and Alvarez, all of them are good. Fight with any of these guys would be very interesting and competitive.

“I never choose opponent, fought with any fighter who was offered me to fight, and I’m not going to change that.

“I’m coming back November – December to defend my belt. Whoever @ufc decide to fight me with, I’ll sign.”

With so many good contenders lined up at lightweight, it’s unfortunately that we’ll have to wait until the end of the year to start seeing anyone fight for the title.

It remains to be seen what the UFC will decide to do, but it’s long enough of a wait that at least some of these contenders are likely to have to fight each other in the mean time to more firmly establish who sould be granted title contention.

However, McGregor would surely be the favorite to be granted the title shot and may well be happy to just sit out until November.
