Paige VanZant will finally return to the Octagon against Amanda Ribas at a UFC Fight Night: Brazil card on March 14th.
Due to injury woes, PVZ has only fought twice in the past three years. After a loss to Michelle Waterson at the tail-end of 2016, VanZant then sat out for the whole of 2017 due to suffering a herniated disc among other injuries and ailments.
To add to her woes, VanZant then broke her arm during a loss to Jessica-Rose Clark and spent another year on the sidelines, before turning in January and defeating Rachael Ostovich by second round submission.
However, a reccurence of her broken arm, which would ultimately require two surgeries to fix has kept her from completeing the remaining fight on her UFC contract until now.
Neverthless, life is good for PVZ as she’s leveraged her popularity on social media, where her 2.3 million followers on Instagram has led to lucrative endorsement deals that she revealed earlier this year earn her more than her fighting career.
With that in mind there’s some doubt about what PVZ will choose to do with her career after this fight, but whatever happens she’ll want to come away victorious after losing three of her last fights.
She’s not been given an easy fight though, with Ribas already having defeated another popular star in Mackenzie Dern during her two-fight stint in the UFC so far, and with only one loss in her nine fight career, she’ll be eager to continue to put her own name on the mat by handing VanZant another defeat.
