A bantamweight fight between Rob Font and Song Yadong has been booked for UFC 292 in Boston on August 19th.
Font earned a first round TKO finish against Adrian Yanez back in April, and that was a welcome return to the win column for the 35-year-old as he’d lost his previous two bouts on the scorecards against Jose Aldo and Marlon Vera.
In total Font holds a 10-5 record in the UFC spanning a nine-year period and currently holds the No.7 spot on the bantamweight ladder.
At 25, Yadong is 10 years his junior, but he’s been competing in the UFC for a long time and compiled a 9-2-1 record along the way.
That includes a 5th round TKO victory over Ricky Simon last time out, following a TKO loss to Cory Sandhagen prior to that, while his other notable wins in the UFC so far have included beating the likes of Marlon Moraes and Marlon Vera.
Font vs. Yadong joins a UFC 292 card that will be headlined by a bantamweight title fight between Aljamain Sterling and Sean O’Malley, with a women’s strawweight title fight between Zhang Weili and Amanda Lemos in the co-main event and Henry Cejudo also fighting Marlon Vera on the main card.
