UFC Fight Night 129 Bonus Awards

Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 129 event the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.

Earning ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors was Andrea ‘KGB’ Lee’s UFC debut against Veronica Macedo on the main card.

This was a competitive scrap, but Lee largely had the upperhand, particularly when it came to her grappling, securing multiple takedowns and threatening with submissions on her way to a convincing decision victory.

One of two ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonuses went to Claudio Puelles who produced a dramatic comeback against Felipe Silva.

Silva had been hurt several times by Puelles in the fight and seemed on the verge of exhaustion in the final round as he continued to get dominant, yet as Silva stepped up the pace looking for a finish, Puelles suddenly rolled for a kneebar and managed to lock it up, forcing the submission to claim one of the best come-from-behind victories of the year.

Gabriel Benitez also earned a ‘Performance Of The Night’ award after he took just 39 seconds to slam Humberto Bandeney to the mat and land follow-up punches to secure a KO win.
