Khabib Nurmagomedov has grappled with his long-time teammate Luke Rockhold at AKA many times over the years, and it seems the retired former lightweight champion still causes the ex-middleweight titleholder plenty of problems on the mat.
On top of that, Khabib is also a master of winding up Rockhold, telling the camera during their latest training footage together that, “If Sambo was easy… It’d be called Luke Rockhold,”
Later, as Khabib enjoys an extended period of control on top in side control, Rockhold tells him, “don’t get too comfortable Khabib.”
“Brother, I just miss you, I hug you,” Khabib joked in response, while continuing to pin him down.
Rockhold eventually gets away and back to his feet, teasing his teammate that he should “keep practicing,” only for Khabib to chase him and bring him down to the mat once again!
As things stand Khabib, who these days walks around at 205lbs, remains retired and as things stand appears to be content with that decision, while Rockhold is currently preparing for his first fight in three years against Paulo Costa in August.
