After dispatching James Thompson in under a minute at DREAM 12 last night, Alistair Overeem spoke to the press and revealed who he has his sights set on next. He has been accused recently of ducking a fight with Fedor Emelianenko, the man many people believe to be the best pound for pound fighter in the world, and last night he looked to set the record straight on the matter.
“Write this down…I want to fight Fedor…Alistair Overeem wants to fight Fedor, in April 2010.”
Fedor has of course got an upcoming fight with Brett Rogers on November 7th to contend with first, but assuming he emerges victorious, a showdown with Overeem is the biggest heavyweight fight that can be put together outside of the UFC at this moment and time.
