Bellator PPV: Rampage Vs Tito – First Promo Video

No expense has been spared for Bellator’s new trailer to promote their first ever pay-per-view event headlined by Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and Tito Ortiz on November 2nd.

The promo depicts the two “MMA Giants” in larger-than-life fashion as they walk through Los Angeles with other fighters on the card like Michael Chandler and ‘King Mo’ also get in on the act.

What’s conspicuously absent from the promo is much of a mention that this is a Bellator PPV event, other than a brief mention that Chandler is a Bellator champion and a small logo at the end that plays second fiddle to the ‘Rampage Vs Ortiz’ graphic.

That’s more than likely deliberate on Bellator / Viacom’s part.  They’ll be relying heavily on the two headliners star power to sell this card and if some people mistakenly happen to buy the event assuming that it’s actually a UFC event then that’s probably just fine with them – in fact the even use the same “only on pay-per-view” voiceover guy that’s done the UFC’s trailers for years too.

Overall, the trailer is nicely done and while some critics, including the UFC’s Dana White, have mocked Bellator for leading with two veteran fighters on substantial losing streaks, there’s no doubt this promo does a good job of giving the impression that this is a major PPV event.

Whether it’s enough to convince enough people to part with their money to make the event a success remains to be seen.
