Strawweight champion Zhang Weili’s next fight will be against Amanda Lemos in the co-main event of UFC 292 in Boston on August 19th.

A two-time 115lb champ, Weili reclaimed the belt last time out with a second round submission of Carla Esparza at UFC 281 last November.

That had been Weili’s second win in a row, having also KO’d former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk a few months earlier, following on from back-to-back losses against Rose Namajunas in 2021.

Now the 33-year-old Weili will attempt to defend the title against the 35-year-old Lemos, who is coming into the fight off a submission finish of Michelle Waterson and TKO stoppage of Marina Rodriguez in 2022.

Lemos had lost by submission to Jessica Andrade earlier that year, but that’s her only defeat in her past 8 Octagon appearances, leaving her ranked No.4 in the division.

Weili vs. Lemos joins a UFC 292 card that will be headlined by a bantamweight title fight between Aljamain Sterling and Sean O’Malley, while Cody Garbrandt vs. Mauro Bautista has also been confirmed for the Boston show.
