Manel Kape TKO’s Bruno Gustavo da Silva In 3rd Round At UFC On ESPN 63

Manel Kape impressed tonight with his lightning-quick striking against Bruno Gustavo da Silva tonight at UFC On ESPN 63 and put the icing on the cake by finding a TKO Finish in the final round.

Round One:

Nice right hand from Silva to start. Quick right and left from Kape. Leg kick for him. He lands another. Left hand for Kape.

Overhand from Silva misses. Left hook for Kape. Fast one-two. Now another swift left hand from Kape.

Again a straight land connects for Kape. Body-head combo for Silva. Inside leg kick followed by a punch upstairs from kape.

Silva punches to the body again. Now a right hand connects upstairs. Silva with a kick that strays to the groin and forces a time-out.

Kape quickly recovers. Solid low kick for him knocks Silva slightly off-balance. Left hand for Kape. Missed right hand from Silva. Jabs from Kape. Swift straight punches from him.

Kape lands a jab and gets caught with another front kick to the groin from Kape, leading to another time-out. This one takes a big longer for Kape to recover from, but it’s not too long before they get back to it.

Kape with a couple of reaching punches that don’t quite connect. Spinning backfist attempt from Kape late in the round misses.

Round Two:

Calf kick for Silva to start the second round. Inside leg kicks from Kape now. Silva tries for a takedown, but Kape brushes him aside.

Whiffed punches from Kape. Series of punches from Kape. He showboats for a moment and then fires off another punch. He’s getting more aggressive now and Silva is bleeding from a cut to the right eye, but then Silva again lands a kick to the groin, forcing yet another time-out.

This time Kape goes to the mat and is in clear pain. Luckily he does recover eventually and Silva gets deducted a point for that. Kape still doesn’t look particularly comfortable though.

Inside low kick from Silva. Kape showboating, including putting his hands behind his back. Then he fires off with fast punches. More showboating, but he’s getting away with it for now. His speed advantage is really helping him to land and not get caught in return.

Body kick for Silva. Now a leg kick. Nice one-two from Silva. A few wild swings and misses from Silva. Punch lands for Kape.

Two right hands, a left and then another right from Kape. He steps into another nice right hand. Kape circles then darts into a punch, but Silva then fires off a knee to the body. Body kick lands for Kape late in the round.

Round Three:

Silva with punches and body kick. Big exchange in close as Silva gets wild in an attempt to win the fight. Kape catches him with a nice punch. Silva with another flurry that mostly misses.

Nice body punch from Kape. Kape fakes a takedown and Silva bit on that and tried to sprawl. Jab for Kape and then body shots. Leg kick and then another punch to the body.

Kape rips to the body several times as Silva covers up and hits reverse gear. Signs he’s wilting now.

Kape goes to the body with a kick and Silva is hurt and turns away for a moment and backs up to the cage. Silva just covering up now as Kape punches to the body and head and sinks him to the canvas to seal a TKO victory at 1.57mins of the final round.
