UFC Champ Kayla Harrison Admits She Doesn’t Plan On Fighting For Much Longer

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison will finally return to action against Amanda Nunes at UFC 234 in November after recovering from neck surgery, but she’s admitted in a new interview that she might not have many more fights left before retiring.

“Not long. 100-percent until the wheels fall off, but…four surgeries in four years, the wheels are a little wobbly boys” Harrison joked on the ‘Deep Waters’ podcast when asked how much longer she intended to keep fighting.

“Yeah, not much longer. I am also ready to, dude I have not been on a date in like five years. I am a single mom with two kids, I home school them, I train, I just do not have any free time, so I’d would like to meet someone.”

The reality is that the 36-year-old Harrison could retire today and already have a fully stocked trophy cabinet, having been a two-time Olympic judo gold medalist, a two-time PFL tournament champion with $1 million prize money for each, and then racking up three UFC wins to become the 135lb champ their too.

However, a win over the woman currently regarded as the greatest of all-time, Amanda Nunes, in November would undoubtedly be the icing on the cake.

And if she does emerge victorious in that fight then you’d have to wonder what would really be left for Harrison to accomplish in the sport, and whether that might be the perfect time to call it a career.
