A flyweight fight between Brandon Moreno and Charles Johnson is in the works for UFC 335 on December 12th in Las Vegas.
The 32-year-old Moreno is only two weeks removed from his last fight, where he earned a split-decision victory over Joseph Morales at Noche UFC 4.
That victory helped the former flyweight champ move past a two-fight slump which had seen him being TKO’d by Tatsuro Taira, followed by a unanimous decision loss to Lone’er Kavanagh.
Moreno is now ranked No.9 in the meta 125lb rankings heading into his next fight against the 14th placed Johnson, who pulled off a rare twister submission victory over Eduardo Henrique back in August.
The 35-year-old Johnson has been stuck in a pattern of win-one, lose-one over the past couple of years though, so this will be a big test to see if he can break from that and start climbing up the rankings.
Moreno vs. Johnson isn’t official yet, but is expected to join a UFC 335 card that will mark the final numbered event of 2026. There are no other fights currently attached to it, though there have been rumors that middleweight champion Sean Strickland could feature in the main event.
